Tonight Matthew…

..I shall attempt to eat the entire world (if the LHC doesn’t beat me to it that is).

I have to say, it was my kind of dinner.  A small savoury main course to start then a much larger pudding to finish!  Marcail ploughed through Deb’s chicken stew in no time flat.  I could barely shovel it in fast enough and if I even thought about pausing there was immediate complaint from the diner.Continue reading

Scared dog

She gets stressed when Debs is on edge and Canada are 2:1 up to the US in the men’s ice hockey final; for gold. Two minutes to go…

It doesn’t get more exciting for a Canadian!

Exersaucer

Standing room only

So, I mentioned that Marcail had been quite taken with her exersaucer in Calgary.  Well, she was really quite taken with it.  So much so in fact that we really thought we should get her one now that we are home.  Sunday just past, then, we made a trip back to Edinburgh for DIY, food and to go to Mothercare who had the one we wanted in stock.  There aren’t that many of them to choose from but this one seemed, to us anyway, to be the pick of the crop. So, what’s been happening I hear you cry!  Sorry, speak up at the back there, you’re supposed to be asking what’s been happening.Continue reading

NoSeeUm

Not the midge nets in this instance, though they are just great – give that man / woman a nobel prize for services to the outdoor minded, forthwith.  What’s even better is you can drink beer through them, though it does leave a bit of a residue which smells like a pub carpet in the morning, or so I’m told…

It feels a bit like I never see my darlings at the moment.  It’s been so busy, what with general load at work, moving the company to new premises and trying to book a mortgage.  Continue reading

Holding off for one more week…

Friends

It was weigh in day again today with a second set of immunisation jabs thrown in for good measure and after a mini Indian summer at the weekend, well a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon if I’m being totally honest, it’s been quite an eventful time.  Doglet is recognised as a member of the family now with more time being devoted to observing this peculiar creature; attention which is somewhat mutual if also somewhat over exuberant in return! Doglet does have somewhat of a penchant for licking anything she can get her tongue to in a slightly “Donkey from Shrek” kinda way. Continue reading
