Black and White

Estuarine silt with a puppy's footprints through it

What a nice view of the sea

So, take one WHITE puppy who loves to run.  In fact, the only thing he likes better than running is running through mud.  Then go for a wander down to a nature reserve by the shore.  It’s a nice walk through ground that was only returned to a semi-natural state from being a colliery a remarkably short time ago.  Not far to the shore now.

Oh, that’s right.  This bit of the coast is dominated by tidal mud flats.  That’s mud that is predominantly black, very fine, slightly green and with a worrying smell of fish.  Oh, that’s right.

A samoyed puppy delighted to be covered in stinking estuarine mud.

Loves it!

Well, true to form he’s off towards it like a shot.  Tries to pull up short when his front paws touch the edge of the mud and, rather predictably, slithers to a somewhat ungraceful puppy flomp!  Gets up and tears off along the mud parallel with the shore.  You know what they say?  In for a penny, in for a pound.  No point curtailing his fun now.  That black muzzle, by the way, is from him face planting.  He’s so dainty.
