Mummy in love

It’s a week again, since I last put anything up.  Well, the last week has been a little interrupted since I got one of the seasonal bugs going around last week and was off work on Thursday and Friday.  I was back on Monday, but got told to go home again as I was making the place look unhealthy.  One advantage of being at home ill, was that I got to see Marcail the first time she reached out and grabbed for something.I got a load of pictures of her trying to catch the moment, or the look or both.  When I went to edit them down it was almost impossible to choose between them.  So I’ll ask you to indulge a first time father and pass the onus of selection onto you, dear reader.

On Thursday she sat for ages in her bouncy chair with the Ikea kids gym in front of it starting to play with the hanging toys, really for the first time.

OK, here we go!

Coming, ready or not

Gotcha!

She’s really into looking at things, especially faces, now.  She’ll sit there and inspect your face for ages; when she’s in the mood.  Quite happy, just looking you up and down and taking it all in.  She recognises both of us now and we get smiles from her.  She’s starting to make laughing sounds a little no, but not really in response to anything yet.  Smiling though, that’s another matter.  They’re definitely in response to us or things and she has that cute shy look when she does it too.

I say, there’s a fly in this soup. Would it be too much trouble to ask you for another bowl?

Quit yo’ jibbah jabbah! Fool!

She really does take after her aunty DL too.  Another girl of 106 faces, no doubt about that.  What’s more.  I think we know what job she’s going to do when she’s older.  Almost certainly a large animal vet.  In fact she clearly feels she has already passed the practical part of the exam with ease and scant need even to watch what she’s doing.

So, have I passed then?

Take care y’all.
