We’re starting to get the hang of this job a little bit and it seems a little less daunting than it did yesterday. The midwife came to see us this morning, and we’re not in jail and Marcail isn’t in care so we can’t be doing everything wrong. Although, it turns out we did try to melt her in bed last night. Put fewer clothes and blankets on tonight I think. Other than that, not a lot to say today, but I’ll put the latest portraits up.
First off, “I’m a tiger, Hear Me Roar!” It’s not till I had my own baby that I noticed they do this regular muscle tensing thing. They’ll get all the antagonistic muscle pairs going against each other at once with the effect that it looks like they’re doing an impression of a pouncing tiger. All four limbs held out rigid and fingers and toes spread out. It really is just so cute, especially when she is asleep and does it either spontaneously or if you startle her. Rarr!
The we ‘just’ have a couple of little angel ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ shots. The little spots on her nose seem to be
starting
to dry up, but she’s replacing them with little pimples on her chin and round her mouth. Her eyelashes are really starting to grow in today at quite a rate of knots and her eyes, which were really dark when she was first born, are lightening up to an ocean blue colour (hey, I’m British, I’ll spell it with a u if I want!).
That’s it for now. I’m off to bed. Take care…
