It’s been ages since I’ve written anything and time has flown by. We’re in our twenty eighth week, Debs is getting really pretty big now and soon just getting her in the car could be a trial. You never know, she might have to travel with her butt sticking out the back?!
Mind, mummy has an excuse for this state of affairs, not like Daddy!
Despite this, some folks had been worrying that she just wasn’t quite big enough! Well the scan has scotched that myth. Junior is well on track for being a bouncing baby, sitting at the moment well within the bounds of ‘normal’ growth; around 3 pounds (1.3 kilos to those in more advanced cultures) which is a little north of the 50th percentile. Nothing else came up to worry the sonographer, no running screaming from the room asking for a priest with experience of exorcism.
We kept our eyes firmly shut so as not to stumble on the boy / girl secret, so whether it’s Arbuthnot or Petunia will have to wait a while longer… Sadly, we didn’t get a picture either, so you’ll just have to take our word for it that everything going great and getting big in there.
Now that you can feel arms, legs and goodness knows what else poking out of Debs the awe factor of seeing Junior on the screen has gone a little, but it is still fantastic. In fact, they could do with a wider lens on those things for later on, it was almost too close to fit.
